Makayla and pete met online, both in their thirties and at a point in their life where they knew exactly what they were looking for. When they found each other, it just clicked.
No games, no uncertainty, just that deep, steady feeling of this is my person.
You can see it in the way they interact; easy laughter, constant smiles, and the kind of comfort that only comes from knowing you’re exactly where you are meant to be.
A session That Shifted With the Weather
Earlier in the day, the weather was warm and sunny, one of those beginning of spring north dakota days where finally you felt like it didn’t hurt to breathe outside. but by the time we started shooting, everything changed.
the temperature dropped, the wind picked up, and the sky turned soft and moody.
And honestly? it made the session sooo much better!
THE MOVEMENT FROM THE WIND ADDED SO MUCH LIFE TO THEIR PHOTOS, THE WAY MAKAYLA’S HAIR MOVED, THE WAY THEY LEANED INTO EACH OTHER, LAUGHING THROUGH IT. IT FELT REAL, UNFILTERED, AND COMPLETELY THEM.
From Wooded Trails to Wildflower paths
After exploring mb johnson park. we headed over to wildflower grove park, a peaceful spot known for its winding trails, tall trees, and seasonal blooms along the red river.
This location brought a totally different feel, more vibrant, edgy, and open.
the contrast between the two locations gave their gallery so much variety:
Earthy and woodsy
vibrant and edgy
playful and romantic
Fun, Playful, and Completely Themselves.
One of my favorite parts of this session was how unserious they were, in the best way!
they weren’t afraid to be goofy, try funny poses, or just laugh through the awkward moments and that’s exactly what made their photos so genuine.
because the truth is: the best photos don’t come from perfect posing, they come from connection.
